Salute Your Flag

Sometimes I sense a deep humility

Knowing those who fought for liberty

War is when young men dying

And politicians shaking hands, smiling

For those who served their time in Nam

Trying to keep this land at dawn

May God speed your trip to Eternity

And your names sung in folklore songs

We fought, they fought, both claimed to be right

So many have lost their lives

For truisms, for dignity

And above all, for liberty

Young men, if you see the flag flying

Right hand on your heart, you should be standing

Pay respect to those who felt

So you can enjoy this moment being

Folded flags will be flying high

Old soldiers never die

Fading away, some said

Slowly forgotten in others' mind
